Thank you for taking time out to visit this website.

On New Year's Eve, at approximately 0920hrs, Lance-Corporal (LCpl) Josh "Bodge" Boggi suffered serious, life-threatening injuries in Kahr Nikah in Afghanistan, whilst serving with the Counter IED Task Force.

LCpl Boggi was on a search patrol with his troop when he stood on a Pressure Plate, which triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) beneath him. He was critically injured from the blast, but with the quick thinking and initial treatment of his team he was evacuated to Camp Bastion, where he received intense care to stabalise him of his injuries by the hospitals surgical team.

LCpl Boggi then had to undergo a gruelling transfer back to the UK under sedation.

Always one for a good laugh and lifting morale amongst his peers, he has taken his injuries with the strength and character, of which any Airborne soldier seems to do, under these truly traumatic circumstances. The love and support shown within hours of the news reaching family and friends is undoubtedly remarkable. He is regarded as a true hero who takes pride in being an Airborne Engineer, in 9 Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers. With the legendary mentality of all those who are Airborne, it is without question that LCpl Boggi, better known as "Bodge" to his work comrades, will pull through this difficult period in no time at all.

However, LCpl Boggi will now need a lot of care and help, and will also be making quite a few changes to his lifestyle. This website is to make as many people as possible aware of Bodge's circumstances and current plight. You will be able to find information about events taking place to raise money to help with his ongoing care and specialist rehabilitation, progress with Bodge and all the adaptations that are going to be needed, many of which are very costly.
